I Voted
I've been registered to vote since senior year of high school, 5 years ago. I'd never voted in any election despite being able. I have never felt a really need to, I always thought that everything would would work out, until the 2016 Presidential election.
I never really thought that Trump would win, I had faith that the people voting had seen through him and knew that he would not be good for this country. In the end that was a naive thought, many (too many) people have been taken in by him and have let the worse parts of them selves out. (We all have demons. We're responsible for what it does when we let it out.)
After Trump won by the electoral college votes, I kept seeing more and more horrible things that Trump and his administration are doing. The more I wanted to help get him out of office, but I had no idea how. Until I really listened and learned that the local and senate elections are just as important as the presidential election.
So this year, I made it a priority to vote in the general election. Although I didn't know a lot about the candidates, I knew who I didn't like. So I went to the polls and voted completely blue. I want to believe that the blue wave is coming and that major red states are going to flip to blue. We will see what the elections bring and what changes will hopefully come to this country for the better. Its a little too late to urge you to vote but I really hope every young perosn took this oppurtunity to make their voice and their opinions abnd beliefs knonw to the world.
